Flying Tigers - The Forgotten Heros of World War II
In China, between December 1941 and July 1942, the "Flying Tigers" of Gen. Chennault's American Volunteer Group gave the Curtiss Fighter its moment of glory. Decorated with the motif of shark's teeth painted on the nose, the P-40 brought down 286 Japanese Aircraft in six months of operations, with a loss of 23 of its own. The P-40 is a symbol of our military aviation heritage.
