Treasures from Deep in the Mountains: Textiles and Silver Ornaments from Peoples of the Bronze Drum
Beatrice E. Roberts acquired this dazzling collection during her travels through the minority regions of China. She is fascinated with the various cultures of the world, and how they express themselves through ethnic jewelry, textiles, adornment and folk art. Besides being an adventurous traveler and discriminating collector, Roberts is an accomplished lapidary, silversmith and owner of her own company, Ethnicity Etc. Her work has appeared in juried shows, private collections and exhibits at Bowers Museum, Rubin Museum of Art in New York, Mingei International Museum and many other prestigious venues. There will be an opening reception with light refreshments on Saturday, May 12 from 2-4 pm. The exhibit will run through August.
