For the August edition of TCCAE&B, we will be joined by Huihan Lie, Founder and CEO of My China Roots, an organization that assists members of the Chinese diaspora in finding records of their ancestors, connecting with long-lost relatives, and organizing fact-finding journeys to China.

This walking tour of the Asian Pacific Thematic Historic District explores the Japanese Nihonmachi, the Filipino Quarter, and the African American Harlem of the West that existed with San Diego's little-known Chinatown from nearly 100 years ago.
CBI Victory! The 80th Anniversary Retrospective (1945-2025) of the WWII China-Burma-India Theater
This retrospective exhibit on the China-Burma-India theater of WWII is open until January 2026 at the San Diego Chinese Historical Museum. The China-Burma-India Theater (CBI) was the United States military designation for battlefields in that region during World War II. CBI events have been largely forgotten or marginalized in Western memory, but their stories are as colorful as those from more heavily documented areas of WWII. For more information, click here.

The SDCHM has stood as a testament to our shared history, culture, and heritage for decades. However, time has taken its toll, and our cherished museum, last renovated in 1995 (almost 30 years ago!), is in dire need of repairs and enhancements to ensure it remains functional. To continue serving as a beacon of knowledge and a source of inspiration for generations to come, we need your support. Our goal is to raise a minimum of $10,000 to help breathe new life into this iconic structure and provide a welcoming and engaging environment for all who visit. Your support will help us make necessary repairs to the historic Mission building, address plumbing issues, and update aging systems to ensure the safety and integrity of the structure.
